They also noticed that benchmark apps like Geekbench and Antutu got a full performance from the smartphone while the two phones gave a reduced performance in other apps. This would in turn cause a slow down in workloads such as web and social media browsing. Since the manipulation was discovered, Geekbench banned both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro from its platform.ĭiscrepancies were also found by AnandTech where it claimed that OnePlus was blacklisting popular apps for its faster cores. This, in a way, means that OnePlus was manipulating benchmark scores that were not reflective of real-world usage.
